Switch to Chesapeake Bank
We want to make it easy for you to migrate to real community banking. You can stop by or call one of our convenient LOCAL OFFICES to open your accounts. We can get the process started on the phone for you. If you prefer to have us call you, fill out our CONTACT US form to arrange an appointment.
Follow the steps below when switching your accounts to Chesapeake Bank:
- Stop using your old accounts.
- Switch your direct deposits.
- Switch your automatic payments.
- Switch your online bill pay.
Wait until all of your checks and deposits have cleared. Balance your account so you know the closing amount. And be sure to destroy unused checks, deposit slips, ATM cards and debit cards.
If you have a paycheck or other recurring income automatically deposited for you, make sure it follows you to Chesapeake Bank.
If your mortgage, insurance premium or other recurring bill is automatically debited, make sure future payments come from your new Chesapeake Bank account.
If you banked online with your previous financial institution, print out a list of payees and their information before you close your old account. Then set up Chesapeake Bank’s Online Banking with Free Bill Pay.
Changes like these must be made in writing. For your convenience, we’ve provided forms that you can download, complete on your computer, and print:
