Nestled in James City County, the community of Norge was founded in 1908 by immigrants from Norway and Sweden. Norge is now the home of Chesapeake Bank's new Technology Center, which occupies part of the old Farm Fresh building. Looking to expand sustainably, in 2020, the Bank partnered with general contractor Henderson, Inc. and GuernseyTingle architects to refurbish and renovate the building. Opened for operations in 2021, the Chesapeake Bank Tech Center is home to Chesapeake Payment Systems and several other departments.
