Local Bankers Graduate From the Virginia Bankers Association Leadership Institute
Jean Light, vice president and trust officer of Chesapeake Trust Company, Rebecca Foster, vice president, investment officer and assistant corporate secretary of Chesapeake Bank, and Donald J. Seeterlin, vice president and information technology manager of Chesapeake Bank, were among the 19 Virginia bankers who graduated March 22, 2013 from the Virginia Bankers Executive Leadership Institute, a five-month leadership development program sponsored by the Virginia Bankers Association.
“We are extremely proud of Jean, Becky and DJ and their commitment to this great program,” comments Jeff Szyperski, Chairman, CEO and President of Chesapeake Financial Shares, Inc. “This is a comprehensive leadership program that helps participants identify their own personal leadership strengths and leverage those strengths as leaders. We are proud to employ such dedicated individuals that are instrumental in not only their career roles but also in their community roles as leaders.”
Graduates of the five-month Executive Leadership Institute program received instruction in key critical areas to help actively enhance their leadership, organizational and performance skills as they progress in their careers. Through the use of highly qualified instructors and a challenging curriculum, the Virginia Bankers Association’s Executive Leadership Institute is designed to provide a multidimensional banking educational experience. By the time the five-month sessions are completed, students will have developed a range of skills that should both enhance current performance and qualify them as candidates for advancement.
