About Kate
Kate Root has been a leader in the payment processing industry for over 30 years. She obtained a wide range of experience having spent her career spanning from sales to managing payment acquiring and processing divisions within financial institutions, independent sales organizations, and payment software vendors. She has been successful during her career in starting new payment acquiring divisions for four financial institutions.
“I totally believe the key to success in this business is understanding and respecting the precious value of a partnership and that belief is a core value here at Chesapeake Bank.” Kate is currently the SVP/Managing Director of Chesapeake Bank’s Payments Division also known as Chesapeake Payment Systems (CPS).
Kate relocated from the Philadelphia, Pa. area to join Chesapeake Bank. She has two grown children and currently resides in Seaford, Va. with her husband.
